As China pushed for more focused COVID controls and increased official support for the real estate sector, major global peers and Hong Kong's key equity indices all saw gains of about 20% in November.

Foreign investors have poured $5.8 billion into Taiwanese stocks this month, which is on pace to be the largest inflow in 15 years and the first in six. For the second consecutive month, net purchases of Korean shares are expected to surpass $2 billion.

The Indonesian market, which was once the preferred inflation hedge for investors, is flat in November and is about to experience the first negative monthly flows since July. In India, where benchmarks recently reached record highs, investors are also more cautious about valuations. According to Goldman Sachs, the market will likely underperform in 2023.

The markets are frequently at the epicenter of geopolitical tensions involving the US and China due to their substantial reliance on exports, making them susceptible to the possibility of a global recession. Additionally, an increase in virus cases in China that reached a record level is also slowing the market's upward trend.
